CHAPTER 1

Hello, my name is Alexander Martin. I'm a doctor of optometry at Boston Vision. I'm about to perform irrigation.

CHAPTER 2

So sometimes patients can come in and they've gotten a substance in their eye and they're not sure what it is. That is the case currently. So what we're gonna do is first is check the pH of the tears. If someone had acid, soap, anything like that - just look up. She's complaining about her left eye. Good. Oh my god. You did good. And we can then take that and compare it on our scale and make sure that we're dealing with a slightly acidic for the tears. So we're not, we don't need to wash the eye out for any chemical reasons. In this case, we want to wash the eye out 'cause she thinks she got something in it.

CHAPTER 3

What I'm gonna have you do is just hold this right there and then you're gonna tilt the face towards the side that you're gonna be irrigating. Use non-preserved saline. Please do not use water. Look up to the ceiling and then opposite of where you're going. You did good. That's it. Then look down and you're just gonna try and irrigate all the quadrants of the eyeball. Good. Look over here to this side. Still tilt that way just so it drains all on the paper towel. Right over there is perfect. Good. Last one. Look over this way. And same thing. Good. All right. And that is just irrigation.
